Art is encapsulated in a personal notion for me. Each work starts from an idea that pops into my mind and is completed just the way I like it. So much so that rewrites in calligraphy and erasers in art have become my accomplices throughout my creative processes. My everlasting goal is to represent my culture and share my joy through unique ways– my unique way.
In the style of musical compositions, this exhibition is nicknamed “Appassionata”, Italian for “passionate”. The nickname comes from the intersection of my creative pursuits in calligraphy, painting, and music: after 13 years of stepping into this world, I never turned my back on this journey, because passion energizes me to continue to observe the world around me and share ideas from these observations with people around me. It doesn’t matter if it’s connecting to recipients of my spring couplets, receivers of birthday cards, or audiences in concerts; my passion is fueled by such interactions and how my personal interests can live through them.
Thank you for being part of this milestone of my journey!
